It's Pink!

So Matt put together this blog page many moons ago, but never actually made a post. So today I finally figured out how to customize the colors, and we're going PINK! Matt believes there is entirely too much pink in this house, between Lexi and I someone is always wearing pink. Course I don't believe there can be too much pink, and since I buy most of her clothes, that tradition is going to continue. Although I've always been a fan of the color, I'd like to make some comments in my defense. Lexi wasn't born with much hair, and it has taken a VERY long time for her to get any. Even now it's at more of a straggly stage, and she doesn't keep those bows and ribbons in her hair long. So when you've got this little bald baby, it is only appropriate to dress her in lots and lots of pink to give strangers (and those with memory loss issues) the heads up that she is in fact a little girl. You all know what I mean, you're checking out that cute little baby in line in front of you in Walmart, and you want to tell the mother "she's so cute", or "he's so cute"...but the baby is in yellow and the truth is you just can't tell! So I'm really just being helpful by making it overly apparent and saving those embarrassing remarks of 'oh I'm so sorry, she really doesn't look too much like a boy'. Even now when Lexi is in jeans and a sweatshirt, she's got her bright pink sneakers just in case there is a question! (As you can see in her snow shoveling pic) However, I find it strange that this doesn't always work......one Sunday at church when Lexi was about 3-4 months old, an older gentleman came up to Matt while he was holding her in her cute little dress and commented on what a strapping young fella Matt had there....ummm I'm sorry sir, this is a delicate beautiful little girl! In those cases you just can't win! See, we only let her play with pink toys too! j/k

Funny, this came up today at our house. Someone John works with looked at some of the pictures he has and asked if it was a girl or a boy. Helloooo...did he miss the gigantic bow? I like the idea of pink toys. Apparently you can't be too careful.

There are some people out there that just aren't that smart. How could anyone think that adorable Lexi is a boy...crazy. I love all the pink.

Christa, although I completely respect your standpoint, Matt does have a valid point... Let my try and explain on his behalf. Growing up in a house of five boys and no girls, we have not seen our fair share(nor may we want to) of pink living amongst us. This can be a touchy time for Matt as he makes such a drastic transition, just give him some time, I'm sure he'll somehow pull through!

Lauryn got the same thing! She was in a pink swimsuit and I got the "what a good-looking boy you've got there" IDIOTS! It's nice when you can put pony's in their hair.. I'll teach you how to make hair bows and clips if you want!

I don't know how people get confused when we try and make it so obvious for them! Jayden is always being called a girl. It doesn't help that people also name their girls Jayden. Oh well, that part is my fault. But when he is decked out it blue, why do you question it. Once, I saw a baby in yellow with cute little curly hair. I said, what a cute girl. Turns out it was a boy. Well.. if your boy is going to have long curly hair, then you better put him in blue! Be like the rest of us and make it obvious. :)
