Off the grid

Two weeks ago I started training for my new job, and boy has it been intense! I have to do about 100 hours of training in 3 weeks time so it's been a little crazy around these parts. The first week my mother came out to watch my girls while I did my first 40 hour, 8am-5pm week. Although I was rethinking my great idea of working after that week, it was WONDERFUL to have my mother here. She took such good care of my girls, my house, and me, it was hard to let her go! (THANK YOU THANK YOU MOM, I LOVE YOU!!) Week two was a little easier and we managed to sneak some fun times in-between my hours. And week three is facing me this week, starting with a 6pm-4am shift tonight, ah! But after it's all said and done, we'll be off to Cali for a week to hang out at the beach, play with cousins, and see Matt's brother Peter, who'll be home from his mission next week!

Here are some pictures from the last two weeks.

We've been doing a lot of swimming this summer, especially at Katie's super cool pool. We all enjoy the cool water and the fun friends!

Shamu the floaty is always a favorite.
All the kids lined up to ask Katie for a swim in the deep end!

In the distance there you can see the 'Round Rock', where our little city got its name.

Having a nice walk with JoMama.
Swinging!
These two sisters really LOVE each other. Brooklynn follows Lexi around the house and wont even let her have a moments peace in the bathroom.
This picture is from the afternoon after Lexi's birthday party. Her friends hooked her up with every pony under the sun! She couldn't be a happier (or sweatier) little birthday girl.

I don't know if you can make out what's being expressed in this sidewalk chalk, but it does have all the letters to make up ALEXIS HALL. She's growing up, and able to write all the letters to her name...now we just have to work on making them legible... And I'm kind of wondering if I it's normal to start writing your letters backwords, and when do I start to worry about dyslexia??

Oh, and I forgot to mention, check out this awesome new addition to grace my driveway! Welcome Mazda CX-9 to our life, I've been pining for you for months and months and I can't wait to drive you 22 hours to Cali, and 22 hours home :)

So there's a little glimpse into our life. I probably wont post again until after our Cali trip, so see ya in a couple of weeks!

Happy Birthday Lexi!

My little girl turn 4 yesterday, I can hardly believe it! Here are some fun pictures from her My Little Pony Birthday Party--in no particular order :) Thanks to all the friends that came and made it such a great day!

Ya for new ponies!
All of the kids wanted to put in at least one candle, so we did end up with more than 4 :)

4th of July

Today is Lexi's birthday, and we had an awesome birthday this morning! But before I get to blogging about that, I need to post some 4th of July pictures. The city just north of us is called Georgetown and they have a great community festival, this is our second year to hang out there on the 4th.

This is how Alexis enjoys the big jumpy slide.

And this is how Brooklynn enjoys it :)

Brooklynn eating a bottle-both having too much fun.

I'll post birthday pictures tomorrow!

Happenings around the House

We've been doing a lot of swimming this summer, check out Lexi's tan lines :)

Brooklynn LOVES the water as well, she's happiest in the bath.

Is this girl cute or what? She's got some tan lines going as well!

Matt keeps my life spontaneous, the guy is FULL of surprises. Earlier this week he mentioned he wanted to make a really good dinner and sit down to eat it after the girls were in bed. So he pulled up a recipe for Ravioli-made from scratch.

I helped him roll out the dough for the ravioli.

And it was SUPER yummy! A fun a delicious date night for us!

We are looking forward to a BUSY month! Lexi's 4th birthday is Saturday and she's planning a big My Little Pony bash. Then my mom is coming to town for a week to help watch the girls while I train for a new job. (That's right, I'm a working gal again! I'm gonna start working in the ER at the hospital across the street from our house. I'll only be picking up shifts a couple times a month, doing registration like I did in SLC). Then the first week in August we are planning on taking a treck all the way to Cali for a Hall reunion and my nephew Eric's baby blessing. Hopefully I'll remember to take lots of pictures and keep you posted on the fun stuff to come!
