I admit it, I'm not hip on the name Madelynn. Can we still use that name if I have publicly stated that I am against it? I've put in a couple of names that I do like in this poll on the right. Vote and tell us what you think.

It's a GIRL!

We had our ultrasound today, and we are having another baby GIRL! Horray :) We are all very excited! I'm pretty stuck on the name Madelynn, however Matt does NOT like it so we will see how it all works out in the end. I do have Lexi on my side though, and we refer to the baby as 'baby Madelynn'. We will see if we can get Matt used to it before the baby arrives :)

In other news, our trip to California was a success! Alexis had a wonderful time at Grammi's, and I had a wonderful time visiting with Cara and all the other family we saw along the way. This is my favorite picture Grammi took. She took Alexis to Griffith park and let her ride on a pony, Lexi has been talking about it ever since. If you ask her what she did at Grammi's house, she promptly responds with 'I rode a pony' She'll probably want one for Christmas...any takers on making that purchase for her?

Premonition

A few weeks ago my mom asked Lexi what kind of baby is in my tummy, she promptly said it's a boy baby...and she's been saying that ever since. She doesn't waver, she is just sure it is a boy baby in my tummy.

But then again, whenever you ask her, she says 'Mom has a boy baby in her tummy, and I have a girl baby in my tummy' So take it with a grain of salt :)

My real ultrasound is March 30th, so we'll have the official results in just over a week!

Not feeling well....

You know Lexi is sick when she sits still long enough to take this photo, I don't think she has sat in this position since she was 3 months old...She's been sick for a few days now, but definitely doing better today. Good thing she's got a good dad to hold her when she's down!

Happy Birthday Jo Papa!

OK, so I don't know why my parents have the names they do, but between my sisters kidding around, and Lexi taking to it, my mom is known as Jo Mama, and by dad is known as Jo Papa. Silly enough, but it works. Today is Jo Papa's birthday! Lexi loves her Jo Papa, every time we visit he finds her 'pok-a-dots' on her pj's and pokes and pokes them until Lexi can't breath she is laughing so hard. Another favorite is when he flies her around the house, he picks her up and off they go. He also takes her to the park and lets her walk the dog, and they have a great time. So Happy Birthday to our Jo Papa, we love you!

MBA Update

A few of you have been constantly asking me if there is any new news about my school applications, which has forced me to avoid you in public and screen your phone calls. I hope that if I give a general update here, you will stop asking every time you see me and we can be friends again.

Last week I was invited down to Austin for an interview with the program director, and I nailed it. At the end he told me he thought I had a strong application and that he would be recommending me to the admissions committee, so I feel pretty good about that. I imagine I should hear back from them sometime in the next week or so. After the interview we spent some time checking out Austin and fell in love with the town, so here's to hoping.

I also finally got my ASU application in about two weeks ago, and when I called this week I was told that the admissions committee has my application and that I should hear back from them within the next week as well. Apparently they don't require an interview, so I won't need to travel for that. A buddy of mine told me that Phoenix isn't as blistering hot as everyone thinks and that I should stop being such a pansy, so maybe Arizona will be a great option as well.

So there it is, we're just playing the waiting game to get the final answers, unless the admissions committe has been watching any Bachelor lately, in which case they may find it entertaining to send exciting admissions papers to me only to call up later and let me know that they were wrong and that I'm really not a good fit, in which case I will promptly join another reality TV show with better ratings and dance my heart out just to show them up and prove to America that I really am hot.

On a related note, it appears as if UCLA is unaware of my existence and has better things to do than acknowledge me; like take my application money and run. That's cool, I guess.

We were really there....

Well, Matt and I have a way of forgetting that we have the camera when it's just the two of us. I only took two pictures, how lame is that? But I'll tell you about our trip anyway. We flew into Austin, TX and stayed at a very scary Days Inn...but the first day we went down to the University of Texas campus so Matt could have his interview with the director of the program. He was super nervous going in (I can always tell how nervous he is by the steps ahead of me he starts walking), but came out ALL smiles! He felt great about the interview, and we're hoping to hear from them by next week. We spent the rest of the afternoon downtown and walking by the river. They have a river that they dammed up on both sides to create a public swimming pool (that's the one pic I took), it is really neat, and open year round because it is so warm there! It was a steady 80 degrees the whole time we were there. Friday night we had dinner with our friends Kenn and Amy, Amy was my college roommate and we had a great time catching up with them and seeing what a great life they've created in Austin. On Saturday we met with a Realtor and looked at a dozen homes in a couple of different communities. All of the homes we looked at were $20,000-$30,000 cheaper than our home here, and the houses were newer and in much better neighborhoods, it was all very exciting! We then had dinner at Chuy's (from the moment I was on the plane people started suggesting Chuy's, I think at least 5 different people said we just HAD to eat there). All in all it was a GREAT trip, we have lots of planning and deciding to do, but if we were to move to Austin Texas, we would be happy campers!

Partying till we drop!

Well this month is just going to be one vacation after another. Last week Lexi and I headed down to St. George to hang out with my mom and enjoy some nicer weather. We were very happy to be able to walk around outside in T-shirts. We took lots of walks to the park, fed the ducks, and had an all around great time!

This weekend Matt and I are headed to Austin, TX. Matt has applied for an MBA program, and they've asked him to come and interview with the director of the program. We are very excited for this opportunity, and will spend some time checking out the town to see if is somewhere we want to end up. My AWESOME mother-in-law has so wonderfully accepted the challenge to come and hang out with Lexi for the weekend, so we are going kid-free! I'll post pictures when we get back!

And then 2 weeks later Lexi and I will be headed out to California for my girls trip. Katie is going to watch Lexi (again!) so I can take two days to hang out in Palm Springs with my best friend Cara. If I can stay out of town long enough, it might be spring here when I get back.

And finally, if you didn't already know, we are expecting a baby in August! My ultrasound is scheduled for March 30th, so I'll post the big news of boy or girl in a few short weeks!
