Looking Ahead

I was listening to a podcast by Sports Guy Bill Simmons the other day, where he talked with a buddy about why he had wanted kids. This got me thinking about all the things that I most look forward to about kids of my own. Probably the most exciting has already started happening; Alexis loves to watch sports with her dad, especially basketball. Sometimes I have to trick her into it by tempting her with The Little Mermaid when basketball is over, but she always ends up on the couch next to me. I also think it would be great to build a car with one of my kids.

Truth be told, though, what I really look forward to is teaching my kids how to mow and weed the lawn, replace sprinkler heads, shovel snow, salt the driveway, wash the car, and cook gourmet meals. Oh, and I want them to support me financially in my retirement. That's not too much to ask right?
