Ward Campout

Now that I have finally finished all the Easter pictures, we can move on to bigger and better things. Last week our ward had a campout, and would you believe the Hall's attended it? It's true! Despite a childhood of camping at every national park south and west of Yellowstone, and Matt having earned his Eagle Scout, the Matt & Christa Hall family are NOT campers. But we do enjoy a good outing with friends.
In order to participate in this outing, Matt and Lexi headed to WalMart to pick up a tent (luckily Matt did have a sleeping bag from his months as the Scoutmaster). After work, we took the 15 min drive to Georgetown and camped in a grove of Pecan trees, complete with lots of grass and clean bathrooms. As soon as dusk hit, we made the obligatory s'more, and then Brooklynn and I hit the road. Drove right back down the freeway to our own warm beds and left Matt and Lexi to fend for themselves. Now that was my kind of camping :)
Brooklynn and I did head back up the next morning to have breakfast, watch the little kids climb trees, and the older kids play some football (well Lexi did get in on some of this action as well--until her Dad knocked her down). It was a great time to get to know some of our ward members better and enjoy the outdoors. We may even go back a time or two this summer :)
