Matt here.
I'm not sure if you've heard, but I guess we have a new president. Christa went out with the girls on Tuesday, so I got to hang out at home and watch the happenings unfold. I'm not a big fan of Obama, but after reading the news today, I'm glad Sarah Palin isn't making any important decisions; apparantly she's not too up to date on world issues, like who the members of NAFTA are, and that Africa is, in fact, a continent. I think she is somewhere in this video.
A bunch of people are freaking out because they think the country is going to self destruct and sink into the ocean on it's way down to hell. Really, are you serious? To tell you the truth, I don't think he's all that bad.
A great story in newsweek talks about his devout Christian beliefs, he is against gay marriage and will let the states decide, he plans on lowering our taxes (with the exception of all my close friends, associates, business partners, aides, advisors, personal gurus, and mentors who make more that $250k), and he supports a higher education tax credit available to all. I think he is a good, moral man and I hope he can make this country a better place.
The truth is, what can a president really do that affects me? Someone was ranting about how we will have to pay more for gas. Really? Gas was $1.25 when Bush came into office. Are the current prices his fault? I guess maybe if that war he is running in the Middle East has anything to do with it, but then again, we were all gung ho for that 5 years ago, and people should stop driving SUVs.
I guess I can support him for many of the same reasons I support Ron Paul; we need a change from all those cheats and liars (Democrat and Republican) running our county, and I think he is that.
Hey, and how about those Lakers!!

Nice thoughts. I too believe that the country is not going to self destruct. :) And...that the president does not have complete control, thank goodness. That's what makes me feel better about all of this. We have a new president, so I will be patriotic, but I won't be embracing any extreme liberal ideas.
I think people are excited for change, but I don't think the country is as ready as they think to accept some of Obama's radical changes. But I do agree that change is needed. I wasn't such a fan of the Bush administration, but I'm not comfortable with Obama either...parts of his backgroud, religion, and some socialistic ideas.
That video was hilarious though. Amazing that people are that dumb.
(sorry that was long...politics!)
That video is awesome! It's like a you tube version of Jay Walkers
I agree with you, Matt. I wasn't a big fan of any of the four people involved, but the fact that President-Elect Barack Obama won the election doesn't mean that this country will self-destruct. President-Elect Obama is a very intelligent man (so was Senator McCain) and will undoubtedly lead this country the best that he can. The real blame for this country's problems is with the people themselves (thanks for the video). As Americans, we all have the responsibility of respecting AND supporting President-Elect Obama while he is in office. The worst thing any of us could do is tear him down. We have no need to be afraid. As long as we, as Americans, work hard to be successful and to overcome the current problems, we will be successful.
By the way, it's nice to hear from someone that refuses to argue about the election. Thank you for your opinion.
