Feel Good Video of the Day

Matt Here.

I've been totally rocking out to this song by Eric Hutchinson lately. Maybe you've heard it, maybe not, but check out this great music video. It's probably one of my favorite videos I've ever seen, and my brothers will remind me that I used to watch a lot of MTV before my parents cut the cable (not that I would ever admit it).

Anyways, watching this video you can totally tell that this kid is a total nerd, but in the best way because he knows he's a nerd and he's completely happy with that. Then, all of a sudden he writes this fun song that everyone is digging and all of a sudden he is popular and the bikini girls know his name, and everyone wants to tell him how cool he is, but you can tell that inside he knows he's really just a geek and he thinks it's all way funny so he just rolls with it. How cool would it be to go from being inconsequential to having your name on billboards and a cast full of extras to high-five you, and still have the self confidence to wear that silly flannel shirt because you like it? And he's not doing that "counter culture is cool" thing, or the "I don't care what you think, I'm hot" thing. How cool do you have to be to be hip and famous and just laugh about how uncomfortable attention is for you? I nominate Eric Hutchins for the prestigious "Geek Who Made It But Is Still A Cool Geek" award.

I am a fan of Eric Hutchinson, too. He performed that song live on the radio (in the End Zone for 101.9 The End) earlier this week and it was even better live! Sure is a fun and catchy song.

I'm going to vouch for matt watching MTV. Adam thanks you for ruining his childhood.
