This has been a big week for Lexi! She is in her very own, brand new big girl bed! and I have to say this has been a wonderful experience for everyone :) A few weeks ago I was talking with some ladies who were trying to decide when the right time is for your toddler to move from the crib to the bigger bed. The final decision was, 'when the next kid needs the crib'. Gotta love Mormons! But I have to say, that usually is the style isn't it? But alas, Matt and I are behind the fad and obviously don't have a next one ready or even coming for that matter, so we had to take matters into our own hands. We are aiming to start potty training in a couple months, so we decided to get her into a regular bed to help her adjust to one change before we start the next one. So Matt headed down to the Ikea and picked her up a new bed. Gotta love Ikea! He set it up in the middle of the room and the first night we tried it out. I couldn't believe she stayed in the thing all night long, it's a miracle. Even more miraculous was that she stayed in it till I went and got her the next morning. She is doing awesome! She's only strayed from the bed twice, once while she was in timeout...which her daddy let her have it for (and she hasn't tried that again), and the second time she fell out of it one morning. Not too sure how that happened, but I heard a thump, and then a wail, and there she was, flat on the floor with her blanket. Poor thing. Matt and I are extremely proud of her, and excited to keep trying new things! I'm just praying she takes to potty training as well as she has to her new bed! And what new bed would be complete without some bright pink sheets?

I'm reminded of when Matt was 2yrs.old. He was trying to escape from a timeout by climbing out the window in his room. Only problem, we lived on the 2nd story. He hung there until a kid passing by saw him and yelled and yelled til we heard him and rescued Matt from hanging outside the window.
Next time Alexis tries to escape, you can chuckle behind her back.
Oh, she is getting so big! Graduated to the big girl bed. That is exciting.
