Lexi loves her daddy!

Most days (and particularly when Lexi is SUPER CRANKY!) I try to think of the things I am grateful for. Today (as Lexi was giving me her interpretation of Satan) I thought of, I am glad I work tonight and Matt has to try and feed this picky little eater dinner tonight! (we had a very frustrating experience at lunch!) Of course thinking about Lexi and her daddy I have lots to be grateful for. Most mornings when I go in and get Lexi out of her bed, she says 'HI' or 'ready' (which is also what she yells from her room when she is in time out). And after she has pointed out my eyes, ears, nose, and hair to me....just in case I had forgotten them overnight, I pull her out and she goes in search of her dad. She throws her little elbows in the air and says 'where's dad?'...most days I have to say 'sorry honey, dad's at work'...but every now and again it's a weekend and we can go wrestle him out of bed. I love that she knows who her daddy is, and wants to go find him just about every morning.
When Matt gets home from work he sings the 'I'm so glad when daddy gets home' song. When she is in the right mood for it, she'll run over 'and climb upon his knee, put her arms around his neck, hug him tight like this, pat his cheek and give him what? a great big kiss' in which case she opens her mouth wide and sticks it on his cheek, nice and wet! They are a great pair and I'm not sure which one loves the other more!

So what are you grateful for today?

That is so cute... and I laughed out loud when you said that she was giving you her interpretation of Satan.. Oh, don't we just love kids! Good thing they are so cute, and Lexi is gorgeous!
