A few weeks ago we got bold and started potty training Lexi. We went out and got her a seat that fits in the 'big' potty, some cute 'big girl' panties, and off we went. Well, truth be told, it wasn't a super successful day. The first couple of times she got up there, she kind of looked at me like 'what do am I suppose to do here', and then she decided she didn't like the potty at all, and if I dared mention the word she started to cry and run into the other room. So we put the potty chair away, and waited for better days.
After talking to my mom, and a few other mom's who've had successful experiences, I decided we better get her a 'little potty' of her very own. Last week we went out to WalMart and bought it, we talked about it all the way home, and opened it up together. She sat right down on the thing and seemed to think it was great....whew, no more tears! So since Friday we've been sitting down on it, getting used to the idea, and she actually has gone potty twice in the thing! We sang, danced, gave her a marshmellow, and had an all-in-all good time. Today we've started cold turkey with the big girl panites, it's been a litle bit of a messy day :) She really likes the potty, and would sit on it all day if I let her, but she I still feel like she doesn't know exactly what to do in the potty. My mother insists the best way to learn is just to go with the panties, and as soon as she wets them she'll start to understand that's what I'm talking about, sounds reasonable enough to me! So we've been sitting on the potty a lot today, with no luck...but she's on her third pair of panties for the day so we'll be doing laundry most of the afternoon :)

Sounds like you're doing all good things. I did hear that going with the panties is best, she'll see what happens right away when she wets. Good luck to you!! They say that actually it's mommy training.
So, Christa, keep up the good work.
